MEMORIAL DAY RIDE

MEMORIAL DAY 2009

Today we had over 50 bikes attend the Veterans Memorial Celebration in Ocean Pines.   It too was another awesome event. We shared the road with two other great organizations, the Blue Knights and the Gold Wing Club.  We had police escort, the wet weather held off, and the Ceremony was fantastic! As I stood listening to the speakers, and remembering the reason we were there I could not help but feel very proud of my years of military service.  As I looked around to my left and my right, I was also very proud to share the day’s events with my brother Red Knights! I have to admit, it was an overwhelming feeling to be standing with everyone listening to Andy Lee Ashcraft sing Proud To Be American!  As imperfect as the world is today, as challenging as the economic climate may be for our country and ourselves, as uncertain as the future may seem, we do have one thing in common that no political party, no terrorist and not hard times can take away from us.  We are Americans.

We all need to keep in our hearts those that are currently serving, those that have served and those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for us to live in the GREATEST NATION in the world.  Don’t let the hardships of today cloud your vision of what Our Country is made of!

Once again, thank you all for a great weekend.  Thank you all for being part of the brotherhood of MD3.

Respectfully,

Bob Thompson

President
