The meeting was called to order at 7:00. The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence were observed. There were 11 members in attendance.
Secretary’s Report – Read and approved
Treasurers Report – Read and approved
Vintage Motorcycle Day – Volunteers are needed for this event being held Sunday, August 12th at 12:00 at Byrd Park in Snow Hill. At this point only 4 members have volunteered.
Web Site – The computer website has been updated with all 2012 RKMD3 minutes. Comment made about the website looks great and member appreciation of maintaining updates quickly.
Burnout Fund– There has been a house fire at the home of Kenny Midget. The house was insured and at this point they are unsure of what will be needed. A motion was made and approved to help him from the burnout fund if a letter with details is received.
Member Information –Pam Foltz’s brother in law has died after a 38 year firefighting career. A flower arrangement has been ordered.
Mister Whippy Ride – Showell Fire House will be the starting point for this event beginning at 12:00 on September 15th. At this point there is nothing about this event on the Showell website. John Tortufo will check with Showell about the event. Three hundred ride pins will be ordered at a cost of $561.
9/11 Event– Following the event we will be riding to Hooters per a motion made and approved. Three hundred ride pins will be ordered at a cost of $681. Motion made to purchase a parade ax for this and future events, made by Bob Adkins, seconded by Jerry Rhue and approved by 10 of 11 members.
Bike Fest – John Tortufo has talked to the promoter who said he was told by a RKMD3 member that we were not happy with the profit the club made last year. This totally wrong , not only did we enjoy the event and the profit made but looked forward to the Bike Fest being one of our main events. John is trying to get our foot back in door. If we become part of the event, a motion has been passed to order 500 zippered bottle cuzzies to sell at the event.
Red Knight Items – The special black embroidered shirts ordered for the convention last year are being put on sale for $20. There are also white and gray T-shirts for sale.
Camp Barnes – Special Olympics Ride on Sat. August 11th leaving Arby’s in Berlin at 5:30. Fri. August 17th will be a Camp Bar-B-Q , time will be announced. Burn Camp Night with local fire depts. Date and time will be announced. Possible competition against the Law Dogs Motorcycle Club may happen during Burn Camp Night.
