3 Meeting Minutes April 18, 2012

Maryland Chapter 3

Wed. April 18th, 2012

Bishopville V.F.W.

The meeting was called to order at 1:05. The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence were observed. There were 15 members in attendance.

Secretary’s Report – Secretary absent, report not read

Treasurers Report – Read and approved


Website – The computer website is in the process of being updated and taken care of on a routine basis. Dean Simpson mentioned the CD filmed from the convention center and the last 911 ride should be incorporated into the web site.


Ocean City Air Show – Discussion about the return of unused beer back to the distributor was held. The distributor will work with us on some sort of return credit if cases are intact. John has been trying  to contact the sponsors of the booth without success.

Memorial Day Ride – Meet at the former Harley Davidson for an escorted ride to the memorial in Ocean Pines on May 28th.

Grand Tour Ride – Announcement will be forthcoming along for this ride and others such as, Air Show in June, Vintage Bike Show in August, followed by Bike Week and the Red Helmet Ride in October. Jason will be working on additional rides.

Dixie Ride – This will be coming up soon but registration is a must. The club will pick up the registration expense.

Mr. Whippy Ride – Event will be held on Sept. 15th. There was a discussion about the starting either being 12:00 or 1:00. Final discussion will follow. We will try to get more notices out at Oasis Restaurants, other locations and biker periodicals.

911 Ride – Registration will start at 8:00 and begin at about 11:00. Dean has invited Cliff and his partner to ride after the Red Knights on the boardwalk.

Camp Barnes – The bathroom has been rebuilt at the Camp Barnes Burn Center.

Joe Morris Award– Barry Gusst was awarded the Joe Morris Award which can be picked up at the Countryside Café.


Blue Knights Ride – No details available at this time.

The next RKMD3 meeting will be determined at a later date.
